That is a nice assessment of constructivism! The thoughts on writing are engaging too, though they avoid the question of whether in writing “the answers are unambiguously right or wrong.” Grammar and syntax, being logical systems, are often unambiguously right or wrong (e.g. the syntax of a sentence means particular nouns are either subjects or objects, no gray area), while questions of style and meaning are often, by nature, “constructivist,” referring, in its legitimate sense, to the moment when meaning is constructed in the reader’s mind- that is how it works, but you can’t get to the constructivist moment without direct instruction of mechanics first.
